Share
The city's first public art gallery, the Grade I listed building is home to fine and decorative arts built around the collection of Sir William Holburne.
The Holburne Museum is one of the UK’s leading independent museums and a registered charity, with a core vision of ‘Changing Lives Through Art’. Established as Bath’s first public art gallery in 1882, now home to 9,000 unique artworks including one of the finest displays of 18th-century British portraiture.
It's one of a small number of galleries in the UK that combine a historic collection with a diverse programme of historic, contemporary, fine and decorative art.
As a principal visual arts organisation in Bath and a major feature of the UK's artistic landscape it delivers an ambitious programme, bringing the best art to the south west.
