Open to visual artists working in any medium, an eclectic and exciting mix of high level submissions are received. The prize welcomes works in all genres including painting, print, photography, 3D and video, small site specific installations can also be considered. Developed as part of Fringe Arts Bath (FaB), the Bath Open Art Prize is now in its 9th year. Alongside the established traditions the prize welcomes more idiosyncratic and whimsical works that reflect FaB’s open approach.



1st prize: £250 sponsored by Andrews Property

2nd prize: £100 sponsored by Society Café

People's Choice: £50 art vouchers, sponsored by Minerva Arts Supplies

Exhibition Opportunity sponsored by 44ad Artspace: a solo exhibition in 44ad's basement gallery

Selected works exhibited at 44ad artspace during FaB Festival, 24 May to 9 June 2019, in Bath, England. #FaB19



The 2019 judges - Chris Stephens, Director of the Holburne Museum (and previously lead curator at Tate Britain) and Sandra Porter RWA, artist and printmaker – will join the exhibition selection team and will be announcing the 1st and 2nd prizes at the Prize Giving reception on 27 May 2019.



Submission fees:

For 1 artwork the fee is £20

For up to 3 artworks the fee is £30

All proceeds from the Bath Open Art Prize go towards producing the exhibition, and supporting production of Fringe Arts Bath Festival. All amounts are stated in GBP.
